Lots of brilliant work this month - well done to the winners of Best Classwork for December!
  • Maths at Home

    Fri 12 Jan 2018

Thank you to everyone who ventured out to school on a cold and foggy evening to participate in the first of our Extended Schools Parents' Evenings.

Last night's workshop was a very valuable introduction to helping your child develop mental maths skills and an opportunity to understand the 'decomposition' method of subtraction.

Next week's workshop is aimed a P1, P2 and P3 parents and carers and places are still available should you wish to attend.

To further assist you in helping your children at home the Parent Booklets used on each evening are available here.

  • Highly Effective Teaching

    Fri 05 Jan 2018

At the beginning of a new year and with applications to Primary 1 still being accepted, it is encouraging for staff and parents to remember the endorsement of our work which we received from the Education and Training Inspectorate this time last year.

The inspection then resulted in a very positive outcome for our school, and it is something we continue to build on for the benefit of all our pupils.

Very many positive things were written by the inspection team and this, about your children, stands out:

"The children are courteous, welcoming to visitors and their behaviour is exemplary."

The full report is available here.

Application forms for children whose 4th birthday falls on or before 1st July 2018 are available from the school off for enrolling children for P1 in September 2018.

Parents of eligible children are most welcome to contact the office to arrange a time to speak with our Principal, Miss McKane, to see around the school and to discuss their child's application.
