Leavers’ Assembly and Retirement

Last Thursday, 20th June, we said goodbye to our Primary 7’s at our annual Leavers’ Assembly, and to Mrs Loney, our Literacy Support and Music teacher.

This was an opportunity to celebrate their many achievements and to wish them well for the future.

We enjoyed Primary 6 and Primary 7’s recorder playing, trumpet duets, piano and flute performances, line dancing and the excellent class dramatic recital of Roald Dahl’s ‘Three Little Pigs’ poem.

So much of our school’s success in music, in school performances, Christmas concerts, the local Feis and cultural contributions within the community have been due to the expertise and professionalism of Mrs Loney who has led this work for 20 years. We wish to place on record our thanks and appreciation for all she has done in this and in her Literacy work, and trust she has a happy and enjoyable retirement.

Miss Stewart also leaves us this month for another post. Grateful thanks for her excellence in her role as small group support teacher and her time as P3 class teacher. We wish her every success in her new role.

Leavers’ Assembly is also when we celebrate the achievements of our P4 to P7 classes with various curriculum and sports prizes.

Photographs of the winners are in the slideshow.
