Visiting the Irish Linen Centre, Lisburn

Mrs Kerrigan’s P7 class spent a lovely morning at the Irish Linen Centre in Lisburn where they learned about the origins of The Linen industry in Ireland and its links to Egypt.

Did you know that Irish Linen is one of the finest in the world.

They also learned that the flax industry began in Ireland because there was a huge tax for wool but no tax for making Linen which made it more profitable.
