Thank you to all pupils and parents for their support and co-operation with new routines. Check out restart page for staggered finishing times. It was great to have all our classes back learning together.
ECO continues to be an important aspect of our life and work in Windsor Hill and two recent projects highlight this:
Bottle Top Challenge
Mrs Kerrigan’s class have been coordinating a bottle top recycling collection this term. They appreciate the help and support of all parents, pupils and friends who have used this as a means of recycling.
The project focuses on the collection of plastice bottle tops which will be donated to two charities - Rachel’s Place, an orphanage in Lesotho, South Africa, and Action for Children NI.
Please note that collections will finish this term as the Eco Committee will be planning new projects for the New Year.
Solar Panels for School
Last term the Department of Education pledged to support schools interested in having solar panels installed.
Given our commitment to Eco Schools, we applied and were one of 20 schools selected and the panels have now been installed on our south facing roof.
This has been a most worthwhile iniative and Windsor Hill is very pleased to benefit from it - in the long term this should reduce our electricity costs.
