Thank you for considering Windsor Hill Primary School and trusting us with your child's education. Information to assist you with the application process for admission to our school is provided in the sections and links below. We hope you find it useful, and look forward to working with you and your child. 

All prospective parents are very welcome to make an appointment to visit school to view our excellent facilities and resources first hand and are welcome to speak directly with Miss McKane. 

Applications for P1 for September 2024  are open from noon on 9th January to noon on Friday 26th January 2024.

Windsor Hill Primary School Admissions Criteria

While online applications are preferred by the Education Authority, paper applications can be made directly to school using a paper form.  

For those who who find online difficult, for whatever reason, paper applications can also be made directly to the school.  Further information will be made available by the school office.

School Age and Information on deferring P1 Start

Children born between 2 July 2019 and 1 July 2020 will be due to start Primary One in September 2024 as they will be of compulsory school age and Parents/Guardians must apply for a place in a primary school.

The School Age (NI) Act became law in Northern Ireland on 28 April 2022 and has changed the law to allow the parents/guardians of younger children in the year group a choice to defer their child starting primary school by one year should they wish to do so. 

This applies only to children:-

Born on or between 1 April 2019 and 1 July 2020
OR
Born before 1 April 2020 but due to be born on or after 1 April 2020 if born at term (Medical evidence must be provided)

These children can decide to defer P1 for one year and apply for pre-school.
