Primary School Admissions for September 2025

Thank you for considering Windsor Hill Primary School and trusting us with your child's education. Information to assist you with the application process for admission to our school is provided in this section and links below. We hope you find it useful, and look forward to working with you and your child.

Applications for P1 for September 2025  are open from noon on Friday 10th January to noon on Friday 24th January 2025. 

Please do your best to get applications in on time. 

Please note that applications for pupils with statements, for our Specialist Provision classes should be made directly through the SEN Annual Review Process with the Education Authority.  While we are very happy to welcome parents to visit our school to view our facilities, it is the Education Authority SEN Team who allocate our SPIM places.

School Age and Information on deferring P1 Start

Children born between 2 July 2020 and 1 July 2021 will be due to start Primary One in September 2025 as they will be of compulsory school age and Parents/Guardians must apply for a place in a primary school.

The School Age (NI) Act became law in Northern Ireland on 28 April 2022 and has changed the law to allow the parents/guardians of younger children in the year group a choice to defer their child starting primary school by one year should they wish to do so. 

This applies only to children:-

Born on or between 1 April 2020 and 1 July 2021
OR
Born before 1 April 2021 but due to be born on or after 1 April 2021 if born at term (Medical evidence must be provided)

These children can decide to defer P1 for one year and apply for pre-school.
