Daily Mile

Windsor Hill Do the Daily Mile - Friday 28th May 2021

Here at Windsor Hill Primary School we have been taking part in an initiative called The Daily Mile. It is a very simple initiative whereby it aims to get children outside for 10/15 minutes each day for daily exercise, of either walking, running or jogging at their own pace. Whilst making them fitter, healthier and more able to concentrate in the classroom, it has huge social and emotional benefits too.

The Daily Mile have organised an event whereby they would like as many schools in Northern Ireland as possible to get moving on the same day, to celebrate the positive benefits that daily activity can have on our mental health.

The day for getting everyone moving is Friday 28th May. Leading up to this event the children will be involved in discussing the positive benefits that daily exercise can bring as well as Decorating and filling out their own Back Signs to wear on the day. Each child will be awarded a special certificate for taking part in the event.

On this day all children may wear their PE kit to school and ensure they have a water bottle with them.  All class bubbles will go outside to their designated area in the playground for their Daily Mile at different times throughout the day.

So let's get moving!!
